Membership

Membership Principles

The society is a non-profit structured organisation administered by a voluntary committee.

The members of the Early Years in Education Society believe in the following principles:

Language is central to learning;
Children should be engaged actively;
An integrated approach which provides a balance between active and passive experiences, freely chosen and directed activities in all curriculum areas;
The domains of learning (cognitive, socioemotional, physical and creative) are considered essential in the development of the whole child’
Appropriate assessment and reporting based on the Curriculum Framework;
Meaningful interaction with adults through observation, analysis and extension is essential;
The development of confident, independent responsible and motivated learners is fostered by individual, small and whole group activities where emphasis is placed on learning to learn;
Education values children’s diverse family, social and cultural contexts;
Children learn best when home and school work cooperatively.

Membership offers mailouts of all events, discounts to the events and and opportunity to receive a grant.

Membership fees:

Fees are per school year and include GST.
